Citadel Stone supplies natural stone to St. Vincent and the Grenadines quarry-direct: pavers, tiles, slabs and pool coping, hand-selected piece by piece and shipped by container or pallet to Kingstown — with the onward island legs to the Grenadines planned into every quote. You approve physical samples before committing, your order is cut and finished to your exact specification, and you deal with one person — Kareem — from first enquiry to the day the stone lands.

No market in this cluster is quite like SVG: one volcanic mainland and a chain of Grenadines that includes some of the most exclusive private-island addresses in the world, a new international airport feeding a growing resort economy, and logistics that treat every island as its own small project. Supplying it well is a craft of chains and legs — and this page walks through exactly how it works.

The stone SVG projects ask for

White limestone pavers and tiles lead our SVG orders for the reason every volcanic island teaches: against deep green slopes and dark local rock, pale stone brings the light — terraces glow, pool decks stay barefoot-cool, and the Grenadines’ famous anchorheads photograph exactly as their reputations promise.

Ocean Reef shellstone suits the chain’s barefoot beach-house register with warm fossil texture. Black basalt is the natural accent — volcanic stone on volcanic islands, reading native in borders, steps and drives while arriving factory-calibrated. And white limestone pool coping finishes villa and estate pools with profiled, drip-grooved edges cut from the deck’s own stone.

Volcanic islands, imported floors: the familiar honest geology

St. Vincent’s Soufrière — which reminded the world it was active in 2021 — heads a geology that runs the whole chain: dark, igneous, quarried locally as aggregate and construction fill rather than calibrated flooring. The island’s own stone builds magnificently — walls, foundations, road base — and leaves the finished-surface gap every volcanic island in this cluster shares: floors want light tones that shed heat, factory calibration, low absorption for the wet season and finished textures for grip. Imported paving-grade limestone supplies that half, the local stone keeps its structural half, and the partnership reads as naturally here as it does on Grenada next door.

Where SVG builds

The market is a chain of distinct briefs. Mainland St. Vincent carries the working economy — Kingstown commerce, villa neighbourhoods above the leeward coast, and the resort investment the new airport unlocked. Bequia, an hour’s ferry south, runs a beloved villa-and-harbour culture with real building activity and its own landing logistics. Mustique operates the private-island model at its most refined — estate standards, managed infrastructure, everything arriving by planned consignment. Canouan hosts the chain’s largest resort development story. And the southern Grenadines — Union Island rebuilding with purpose after Beryl, Palm and Petit St. Vincent running their private-resort models — each add their own leg. Every quote in this market starts with the same question: which island, and what lands there?

Any size, any thickness — cut to your project

Standard formats ship fastest, but every dimension is ultimately cut to order: large-format slabs such as 36 x 24 in (90 x 60 cm) and 36 x 36 in (90 x 90 cm), stair treads for hillside flights, wall cladding, sills and coping profiles are all routine requests. Thickness follows application — 2 cm under cover, 3 cm exterior standard, 5 cm and up under vehicles — and with dense limestone at roughly 80 kg per square metre at 3 cm, honest thickness matters twice in a multi-leg market: once on the ocean freight and again on the inter-island hop. Every piece is hand-inspected after manufacturing, and project orders ship from a single batch.

Stacked bush-hammered white limestone slabs showing the pitted anti-slip face

Finishes for green islands and bright anchorages

The chain’s finish plan splits the familiar way: full wet-climate texture — brushed grades and bush-hammered faces — on the lush mainland’s pool surrounds, stairs and shaded walks, with the drier southern Grenadines leaning on texture for sandy feet and open-sun glare instead. Honed and fine-brushed surfaces serve covered verandas and interiors everywhere. Every texture is produced in-house and photographed on real production stock in our Stone Finishes Gallery; zoning finishes across one order is standard practice, and on a multi-island order the zoning follows the islands themselves.

Pools and the anchorage view

SVG’s pools face some of the sailing world’s most famous water — Admiralty Bay, the Tobago Cays’ horizon, Mustique’s bays — and the stone package follows the view-first logic the cluster refined on St. Lucia’s southwest: calm pale decks that hold the foreground quietly, coping and weir lines cut to the tolerances a photographed edge demands, textured surfaces that stay secure through wet season, and falls that clear rain fast. Estate and resort pools add duty thinking and batch discipline; the whole waterline ships as one drawn family of coping, weirs, spa caps and deck.

How delivery to Kingstown — and beyond — works

Ocean freight lands at Kingstown: full containers for resort and estate phases (roughly 24–26 tonnes, on the order of 280–320 square metres at 3 cm), palletized or shared-container space for villa-scale work. We prepare the export documentation and a clear commercial invoice so your Vincentian broker prices duty and landed cost before the vessel sails; projects under approved developments raise the concession question early. Then the chain’s signature step: the onward leg. Bequia loads onto the ferry and freight runs; Mustique and the private islands receive by their managed consignment channels; Canouan and the southern Grenadines plan against the inter-island services’ schedules. Crates are sized and weighted for the receiving island’s handling — more crates, lighter each, for small-equipment destinations — and every leg is written into the quote, never discovered after it.

How an order actually runs

The sequence holds across the chain. Samples first: at your door — or your island agent’s — within 3 working days, judged wet and dry in the site’s own light. Quote and cutting list: every line itemized including the inter-island leg, every special dimensioned before production. Production and proof: hand inspection, loading photographs before sailing. Arrival and verification: crates against the packing list at the final island, not just the first port — the multi-leg market’s one special discipline — with sample-match checks and escrow releasing on confirmation. Estate managers running remote projects for absent owners get the full remote-owner method as standard practice.

What it costs, honestly

The SVG landed-cost stack carries one line more than most: stone ex-works, ocean freight to Kingstown, insurance, duty and brokerage, and then the inter-island leg with its handling — a real cost that honest quotes state and optimistic ones discover. The EC dollar’s fixed US peg keeps currency simple, payment maps to the delivery sequence with escrow available, and the value ledger reads as it does across the region: surfaces that never refinish or replace beat their alternatives over any honest decade, and on islands where every future repair also rides a boat, the durability argument compounds.

Care across the chain

The regimen splits by island the way the finishes do: mainland properties run the wet-climate rhythm — shaded stone brushed through the algae months, drains cleared before the season, canopy pruned off the paths — while the drier Grenadines run the salt-and-sand version with freshwater rinses where spray settles. The universals hold everywhere: pH-neutral cleaning only, no acid products near limestone, an annual walk of joints, edges and stair nosings, and attic-stock spares stored on the property — doubly wise where the nearest replacement is two boats away.

The private-island standard

Mustique and its peers taught the region what managed private-island quality means: estate offices governing every consignment, house standards controlling palettes and finishes, infrastructure teams receiving and staging deliveries, and maintenance run as a resident profession. Supplying that model is a discipline we relish — consignments documented to the estate office’s format, batches reserved against multi-phase programmes, spares included as policy, and specials cut to drawings that have usually been reviewed twice. The same standard scales down gracefully: any villa owner in the chain can borrow the private island’s habits, and the ones who do get the private island’s results.

After Beryl: building back stronger in the southern Grenadines

Beryl struck the southern Grenadines hard in 2024, Union Island above all, and the rebuild continues — with the region’s familiar lesson written painfully clearly: mass, anchorage and masonry stand back up; lightweight construction travels. Stone belongs to the recovery philosophy — mortar-set terraces and engineered capped walls that give wind nothing, storm-capacity drainage, unit surfaces that repair from spares — and to the recovery logistics: it stores outdoors indefinitely, ships in batches and installs by local skills. We supply rebuild projects with honest priority and the storm-ready specification as the default, not the upgrade.

Who we supply in St. Vincent and the Grenadines

Villa and estate owners get hand-selected stone from a single pallet up, samples first, escrow available. Contractors get cut-to-specification material arriving crated, labelled, sequenced and sized for the receiving island, with wholesale pricing on volume. Resorts, developers and estate offices get single-batch consistency at container scale, finish and slip documentation, consignment paperwork to house format, and one accountable counterpart: Kareem, kareem@citadelstone.us, backed by a 50-year quarrying and manufacturing operation.

Guides for your SVG project

The supporting library opens this page’s topics at working depth: Kingstown and the island legs, step by step; the private-island supply model explained; and villa stone for Bequia and the chain. Twelve newer chapters deepen the shelf, led by pools between the volcano and the yacht chain, the mainland build playbook, Kingstown outward and guesthouse stone at family-hospitality scale. The wider cluster carries the rest — storm lessons from next door, hillside building on volcanic slopes and sailing-coast waterfronts all read as if written for these islands, because in every way that matters they were.

Thank you, Kareem. We received the order. The stones look great!

You are a good businessman and I believe a good person. I admire your honesty, this is why I call you a good businessman.

Undoubtedly the price was the reason that we chose Citadel stone, in addition to the fact that you offer a white limestone that is hard to source. Your products are very good value for money by comparison with other companies. You have helped at every stage of the process and have been quick and reliable in your responses. It was a big risk for us to pay everything up front including shipping and not know the quality. You did make me feel that I could trust you and your company however and we are very happy with the tiles. They appear to have been finished to a very high quality of smoothness and I can't wait to see them once they have been laid. We need to see now how easy they are to fit and maintain, yet you also sealed them before shipment so we think that they will be very durable. Our building project has been delayed for a few months now so it may be sometime before we see them laid, but I promise that I will send photos as soon as we have them down. Thank you so much Kareem and your team, you have done a great job. I am hoping that we can pay for, and receive our second shipment in the not too far future, so that we can finish everything off. Wishing you well. Gemma

I appreciate the quality of product and care for the custom order in packaging each crate to minimize breakage as well as the flexibility with the order to help us make the most of shipping. The timely communications are impressive from the beginning and throughout the process. It's reassuring to have gone through one order to know what the process will be like in the future. I am glad to have had some guidance through the importing process and recommendations for shipping partners to assist. It's incredible to think about the journey the stone traveled to get to our site and I'm grateful to have made it to the next stage of the project relatively smoothly and with from what I can tell.

Frequently Asked Questions

If your question is not listed, please email us at kareem@citadelstone.us

How does stone reach the Grenadines beyond St. Vincent?

In two legs. The container clears at Kingstown, then the material moves onward by inter-island barge or landing craft to Bequia, Mustique, Canouan, Union and the smaller cays. That second leg needs booking around sailing schedules, so we plan crate sizes and weights around what the onward vessel and the receiving jetty can actually handle.

A single pallet, which suits most Grenadines work. Small islands rarely need container volumes, and palletized freight moves onto a barge far more easily than a full box. For larger estates we ship containers into Kingstown and break them down for the onward leg. Tell us the square metreage and we will recommend the cheaper route.

Low absorption above all. Salt spray reaches almost everywhere in the chain, and a porous stone draws it in, then breaks apart as the salt crystallises during drying. Paving-grade limestone with tight porosity resists that cycle, holds its color and takes traffic without the surface degrading. Density and finish do the rest.

Very little, which matters when a property sits empty between visits. Rinse exposed areas with fresh water when you can, clean with pH-neutral products only since acids etch limestone permanently, and keep drainage falls clear so salt water never stands. Textured finishes hold their grip without any treatment or annual sealing.

Samples come to you wherever you are, confirmed the same day and in hand within about three working days, so you can judge them before committing. We quote your exact quantities, prepare export documentation for your broker, and confirm realistic production and sailing dates including the onward island leg.

Because you deal with the manufacturer rather than a reseller passing on another company batch. Kareem handles enquiries personally, every piece is hand-inspected after production and again before crating, and crates are packed for the barge leg rather than just the container. Citadel Stone ships throughout the chain with paperwork prepared for your broker.
