$3.20

Grey basalt with real grip: Grigio Stellato in a coarse 24-grit brush β€” deep matte texture for slopes, steps, wet paths, splash zones, and frost country. Shown dry, as delivered; it darkens to black in rain and dries back to grey, and we say so up front. Any size cut to order.

Price: $3.20 per sq. ft.

Total: $3.20

Every finish. Every size. Every thickness.

Brushed is our signature finish β€” available in any grit from a coarse 24 for maximum grip to a fine 120 for a soft, velvety sheen. We also cut sawn, honed, tumbled, split-face, and bush-hammered, in any dimension and thickness your project calls for. Tell us your specification and we cut to it.

Ships by pallet or container to any US state Β· Lead time quoted per order

  • Floors, patios & terraces
  • External use (from 20 mm thickness)
  • Walls, cladding & facades
  • Pool surrounds & wet areas
  • Driveways (30 mm+ setts and pavers)
  • Steps, copings & edging

Suitability varies with size, thickness, finish, and substrate. Tell us your application when you request a quote and we will confirm the right specification for it.

Bedding: full-bed sand and cement mix or a flexible adhesive appropriate to the substrate.
Joints: from 3 mm for sawn tiles; wider for split-face setts and cobbles.
Sealing: a quality impregnating sealer is recommended for limestone and shellstone; basalt and granite typically need none.
Cutting: wet saw with a diamond blade.

Installation requirements differ by stone and format β€” a product-specific method note is included with every quote, and our team is available for your installer’s technical questions.

Pricing improves materially with quantity: pallet rates beat per-piece pricing, and full-container rates beat both. Every quote is calculated quarry-direct, with no distributor margin in between.

Distributors, stone yards, and retailers: our Trade & Wholesale Program covers container-load pricing, recurring supply schedules, and private-label production.

Orders ship by pallet or full container to any US state, with kerbside delivery to the nearest safe access point. Lead times depend on stone, finish, and quantity, and are confirmed with your quote. Samples reach any US address within five working days.

Every crate is inspected and photographed before it leaves the yard β€” if anything is wrong on arrival, contact us and we will make it right.

Grigio Stellato β€” Grey Basalt Pavers, Brushed 24 Grit

Grey outdoor schemes fail in one predictable place: the ground gets wet and someone slips on a smooth designer surface. This product exists so that doesn’t happen. Grigio Stellato in the coarse 24-grit brush is our grey basalt with real texture β€” a deep matte face with genuine tooth, cut for the parts of a garden that live wet: slopes, steps, paths, and splash zones.

The Stone

Dense volcanic basalt. Dry, the color is charcoal grey with soft tonal shifts and fine bright mineral flecks scattered through it. The coarse brush deepens the texture, which throws small shadows across the face β€” so this grade looks slightly more rugged than the finer 60-grit, and the flecks catch low sun more visibly. Tone varies naturally piece to piece; open several crates and mix as you lay.

Wet, It Goes Black. Then Grey Again.

Say it once, clearly: rain turns this stone black. All basalt darkens with water, ours strongly, and it returns to grey as it dries. Outdoors, that means your paving changes with the weather β€” grey on dry days, near-black in rain. Most owners come to like the two-state life. If grey must hold in all conditions, do not use a color-enhancing sealer (it fixes the black permanently), and wet half your free sample at home before ordering so you approve both states. Want it black on purpose? That is Nero Stellato, the black line of the same collection.

Built for Wet Ground

  • Sloped paths, ramps, and exterior steps
  • Splash zones beside water features and wet-side paving
  • Garden walkways, entrances, and working outdoor routes
  • Courtyards and paving in frost country
  • Driveways in thicker cuts β€” confirmed per project with your build-up details

Frost is where basalt outclasses nearly everything: it absorbs almost no water, so hard freeze-thaw winters have nothing to attack. With sound, well-drained bedding it lasts decade after decade. The honest trade-off is summer heat β€” dark grey warms in full sun, so shade the seating spots, or use our pale limestones where bare feet matter most and keep the grey for paths and structure.

Grey in the Landscape

Grey is the landscape designer’s working neutral, and this texture keeps it practical. It pairs directly with grey gravel, corten steel, concrete, and timber β€” and green planting reads brighter against it than against almost any other paving tone. The mid-dark surface is also forgiving between washes: it hides soil marks that pale stone shows, and its dry grey state shows dust far less than a wet-black surface would.

Care

Sweep. Hose. A pH-neutral wash when needed. Nothing penetrates basalt, so there is no sealing schedule and no stain anxiety β€” and for this grey line, no enhancing products, ever, unless you want the black.

All dimensions and thicknesses are cut to order, from paving tiles through heavy exterior builds, quoted in inches or millimeters. Quarried in the Middle East β€” quarry-direct, hand-selected β€” shipped by pallet or container across the US and worldwide. First sample free; test it wet and dry.
