Every finish. Every size. Every thickness.
Brushed is our signature finish β available in any grit from a coarse 24 for maximum grip to a fine 120 for a soft, velvety sheen. We also cut sawn, honed, tumbled, split-face, and bush-hammered, in any dimension and thickness your project calls for. Tell us your specification and we cut to it.
Ships by pallet or container to any US state Β· Lead time quoted per order
Suitability varies with size, thickness, finish, and substrate. Tell us your application when you request a quote and we will confirm the right specification for it.
Bedding: full-bed sand and cement mix or a flexible adhesive appropriate to the substrate.
Joints: from 3 mm for sawn tiles; wider for split-face setts and cobbles.
Sealing: a quality impregnating sealer is recommended for limestone and shellstone; basalt and granite typically need none.
Cutting: wet saw with a diamond blade.
Installation requirements differ by stone and format β a product-specific method note is included with every quote, and our team is available for your installer’s technical questions.
Pricing improves materially with quantity: pallet rates beat per-piece pricing, and full-container rates beat both. Every quote is calculated quarry-direct, with no distributor margin in between.
Distributors, stone yards, and retailers: our Trade & Wholesale Program covers container-load pricing, recurring supply schedules, and private-label production.
Orders ship by pallet or full container to any US state, with kerbside delivery to the nearest safe access point. Lead times depend on stone, finish, and quantity, and are confirmed with your quote. Free samples reach any US address within five working days.
Every crate is inspected and photographed before it leaves the yard β if anything is wrong on arrival, contact us and we will make it right.
The outdoor year runs a hard audit β rain, frost, grit, glare β and most decorative stones sit it nervously. Volcanic basalt was made by harsher conditions than any winter will ever supply, and Nero Stellato in the coarse 24-grit brush is that permanence dressed for daily weather: the grade of our starry black built to be rained on.
Nero Stellato begins as dense volcanic rock, its deep charcoal body seeded with fine crystalline flecks that formed in the melt β the starfield the name reports. Fleck density is set by geology and wanders piece to piece, so the working rule applies here as everywhere in our figured stones: open several crates, dry-lay, and distribute the busy and the calm across the whole area.
A 24-grit abrasive brush drags real tooth into the face β a pronounced, fully matte texture that wet shoes and wet feet can trust β and it changes how the starfield performs. Deeper texture throws more micro-shadow, so the surface reads slightly more rugged, and under raking morning or evening light the crystal flecks catch and flare against that shadow: the same sky, played louder. For barefoot comfort and composed interiors, its finer 60-grit sibling is the gentler instrument.
Frost country deserves its own line, because this is where basalt stops being a choice and becomes the recommendation: near-zero absorption leaves frost almost nothing to work on, so with sound, well-drained bedding the stone winters decade after decade β it is the material our own limestone pages send hard-freeze buyers toward. The honest counterweight is summer: dark stone banks heat in full sun, so shade the zones where bare feet linger, and for pool decks in hard sun let us route you to our pale limestones instead β the right stone on the right surface beats a slogan.
Sweep, hose, and occasionally wash with a pH-neutral cleaner; that’s all of it. Nothing soaks into basalt, so sealing is optional and purely cosmetic β a color-enhancing impregnating sealer deepens the charcoal toward wet-look black if you want the drama held permanently, and skipping it costs the stone nothing.
Quarried in the Middle East β quarry-direct, hand-selected β and cut to any dimension and any thickness, from garden paving through heavy exterior builds, delivered by pallet or container across the US and worldwide (see the full black basalt collection for companion formats). The first sample is free, and for this grade take it outside: texture, tooth, and the raking-light flare are outdoor qualities, best judged where they’ll live.
A free sample of the exact stone ships before any full order β judge tone, veining, and texture in your own light.
