Your size. Your thickness. Your finish, confirmed for this stone.
We cut this stone to the dimensions and thickness your project calls for. Brushed is our signature finish, from a coarse 16 grit to a fine 80, or finer to order. Most of our limestone and basalt can also be supplied sawn, honed or bush-hammered; polished, tumbled and split-face are made on selected stones. Tell us the size, thickness, finish and use, and we’ll confirm what this stone can be made in. Looking for another color? See the full collection.
Planning a laying pattern? See which of our formats suit herringbone, French pattern, running bond, stack bond, basketweave and fan layouts in our paver laying patterns guide.
Ships by pallet or container to any US state · Lead time quoted per order
Suitability varies with size, thickness, finish, and substrate. Tell us your application when you request a quote and we will confirm the right specification for it.
Bedding: full-bed sand and cement mix or a flexible adhesive appropriate to the substrate.
Joints: from 3 mm for sawn tiles; wider for split-face setts and cobbles.
Sealing: a quality impregnating sealer is recommended for limestone and shellstone; basalt and granite typically need none.
Cutting: wet saw with a diamond blade.
Installation requirements differ by stone and format — a product-specific method note is included with every quote, and our team is available for your installer’s technical questions.
Pricing improves materially with quantity: pallet rates beat per-piece pricing, and full-container rates beat both. Every quote is calculated quarry-direct, with no distributor margin in between.
Distributors, stone yards, and retailers: our Trade & Wholesale Program covers container-load pricing, recurring supply schedules, and private-label production.
Orders ship by pallet or full container to any US state, with kerbside delivery to the nearest safe access point. Lead times depend on stone, finish, and quantity, and are confirmed with your quote. Samples reach any US address within five working days.
Every crate is inspected and photographed before dispatch — if anything is wrong on arrival, contact us and we will make it right.
Some product names are marketing. This one is a report: nero stellato means starry black, and that is precisely what the stone does — a deep charcoal ground scattered with fine, bright crystalline flecks, each tile its own patch of night sky. This is our darkest stone, dense volcanic basalt, in the grade we consider its most complete: the refined 60-grit brush.
The flecks are crystalline minerals set into the rock when it was still lava, which is why they behave like stars and not like a pattern: irregular, generous, and never arranged the same way twice. Density drifts naturally from piece to piece — some tiles arrive busy with light, others calm — so open several crates, dry-lay a section, and mix as you fix; spread across a floor, the drift composes into sky.
A fine 60-grit brush takes the sawn face and works it into a smooth, even matte with a gentle hold — enough texture that shoes and bare feet trust it, little enough that the surface stays composed rather than rugged. This is the grade for living on: patios and terraces where people linger, interior floors, stair runs, and feature walls where the charcoal field should look deliberate. Where slopes, splash, and standing weather set the terms, its coarse 24-grit sibling takes over.
We finish basalt many ways, and brushed is the middle voice. Honed basalt runs smoother and more satin — the quietest surface we make. Bush-hammered goes the other way entirely, cratered for maximum industrial grip. The 60-grit brush lands between them: tactile but civilized, which is exactly why it carries the named premium line.
The honest note: dark stone banks heat in full summer sun. Where bare feet will linger through hot afternoons — pool decks above all — plan shade, or let us point you to our pale limestones for those zones and keep Nero Stellato for the areas that earn its drama. We would rather route the right stone to the right surface than sell you a hot deck.
Color honesty: a brushed matte reads deep charcoal, not glossy jet — matte surfaces lighten dark stone a shade. If you want the field darker, a color-enhancing impregnating sealer pushes it toward wet-look black, and on basalt that choice is purely cosmetic: this stone’s absorption has not been tested, but basalt as a rock type takes up little water, so a sealer is optional rather than a protective necessity. Enhance it or leave it natural; both are correct.
Sweep, rinse, and give it an occasional pH-neutral wash — that is the whole program. Water absorption is low, which means less moisture uptake and staining; there is no resealing schedule to keep and no acid anxiety to manage. And in frost country, lay it on sound, well-drained bedding. Freeze-thaw resistance has not been tested on this stone — ask us before specifying it for freeze-thaw or de-icing salt.
With this launch, the curated range now runs its full arc — from Bianco Velo, our palest stone, to Nero Stellato, our darkest. Both are quarried in the Middle East, quarry-direct and hand-selected, cut to any dimension and any thickness, and shipped by pallet or container to any US state and worldwide. Start with a sample: a starfield deserves to be judged in your own light, at arm’s length, before a crate moves.
