Bianco Seta at 36 x 24 inches

Bianco Seta in a single architectural format: 36 x 24 inches (90 x 60 x 3 cm). The same natural white limestone — dense, tight, fine in the grain, quarry-direct from the Middle East and hand-selected for exterior service — cut large so the ground plane reads as surface rather than as pattern.

What large format changes

Fewer joints mean the eye follows the stone instead of the grid. That only works if the stone has something worth following, and Bianco Seta does.

Fine hairline threads of soft grey-taupe and cream run through the face like threads through cloth, thin and non-repeating. Soft drifts of ivory and pale beige move across it the way watermarks move through silk. Underneath sits a pinpoint detail of fossil and pore with warm micro-flecks scattered through it.

At a distance the stone settles into a calm, even field. Underfoot it is alive. A large format gives both more room to work.

Colour, and the range within it

Warm ivory-white through to near-white — luminous in full sun, soft rather than clinical, and deliberately not paper-white. The silk runs from raw ivory to pale pearl.

That spread is quarried character, not inconsistency. Dry-lay from several crates and blend before fixing. With large pieces this matters more, not less: a single mismatched slab is a larger share of what anyone sees.

Pale stone stays markedly cooler underfoot in summer sun than dark paving — the barefoot argument around a pool — and a pale plane lifts a shaded courtyard rather than closing it in.

One stone, whole project

Coping, steps, treads and bullnose are cut from the same stone as the field, so profiles match exactly. Heavier thicknesses are cut to order for driveways and trafficked public spaces, with clean sawn edges for tight modern joints. Any dimension is cut to order.

Laying and bedding

Blend from several crates as you go. Use a free-draining bed: standing water under a pale stone is the thing most likely to spoil it, and it is entirely avoidable at the build stage. Large pieces are less forgiving of an uneven bed than small ones, so take the time at substrate stage.

Care

Clean with a pH-neutral stone cleaner and keep acids off it — check cleaner labels rather than assume. Use a breathable impregnating sealer and reseal periodically outdoors.

The warm micro-flecks are mineral-bearing, so in permanently wet, unsealed spots the usual rule applies: free-draining bedding plus a maintained sealer keeps them a colour rather than a stain.
