Your size. Your thickness. Your finish, confirmed for this stone.
We cut this stone to the dimensions and thickness your project calls for. Brushed is our signature finish, from a coarse 16 grit to a fine 80, or finer to order. Most of our limestone and basalt can also be supplied sawn, honed or bush-hammered; polished, tumbled and split-face are made on selected stones. Tell us the size, thickness, finish and use, and we’ll confirm what this stone can be made in. Looking for another color? See the full collection.
Planning a laying pattern? See which of our formats suit herringbone, French pattern, running bond, stack bond, basketweave and fan layouts in our paver laying patterns guide.
Ships by pallet or container to any US state · Lead time quoted per order
Suitability varies with size, thickness, finish, and substrate. Tell us your application when you request a quote and we will confirm the right specification for it.
Bedding: full-bed sand and cement mix or a flexible adhesive appropriate to the substrate.
Joints: from 3 mm for sawn tiles; wider for split-face setts and cobbles.
Sealing: a quality impregnating sealer is recommended for limestone and shellstone; basalt and granite typically need none.
Cutting: wet saw with a diamond blade.
Installation requirements differ by stone and format — a product-specific method note is included with every quote, and our team is available for your installer’s technical questions.
Pricing improves materially with quantity: pallet rates beat per-piece pricing, and full-container rates beat both. Every quote is calculated quarry-direct, with no distributor margin in between.
Distributors, stone yards, and retailers: our Trade & Wholesale Program covers container-load pricing, recurring supply schedules, and private-label production.
Orders ship by pallet or full container to any US state, with kerbside delivery to the nearest safe access point. Lead times depend on stone, finish, and quantity, and are confirmed with your quote. Samples reach any US address within five working days.
Every crate is inspected and photographed before dispatch — if anything is wrong on arrival, contact us and we will make it right.
Grey Fossil Limestone Pavers are premium-grade natural stone quarried and hand-selected directly from the Middle East by Citadel Stone. Formed over hundreds of millions of years on ancient ocean floors, this exceptional limestone is defined by its distinctive cool blue-grey base tone and its extraordinary surface — alive with the preserved imprints of marine fossils: crinoids, ammonites, shell fragments, and ancient sea creatures embedded permanently into the stone during the fossilisation process.
Every single paver is a geological record — a one-of-a-kind artefact that no tile factory, porcelain manufacturer, or synthetic material can ever replicate. The fossil patterns are dense, varied, and visually arresting, giving Grey Fossil Limestone Pavers a natural drama and depth that instantly becomes the focal point of any space.
Available in many finishes that preserves the stone’s authentic quarried character — and in every other finish to suit your precise vision — these pavers perform beautifully across kitchens, bathrooms, living rooms, patios, driveways, pool surrounds, feature walls, and large-scale commercial projects.

It is a classic Grey Fossil Limestone. Key visual characteristics visible in the stone:
Fossil limestone is widely available, but quality varies enormously. At Citadel Stone, every block is hand-inspected at the quarry for fossil density, structural integrity, and colour consistency before a single cut is made. Only the finest stone — with rich, well-preserved fossils, consistent grey tones, and zero structural defects — reaches your order.
| Technical Parameter | Test basis | Value | Performance Note |
| Density (g/cm³) | — | — | Use it for weight and freight calculations. |
| Water Absorption (%) | — | — | Water taken up by weight. Lower means less moisture uptake and staining. |
| Compressive Strength (N/mm²) | — | — | Compressive stress at which the test specimens failed. A unit’s load capacity also depends on its thickness and base. |
| Flexural Strength (N/mm²) | — | — | Bending stress at which the test specimens broke. A unit’s breaking load also depends on its thickness and support. |
| Abrasion Resistance (mm) | — | — | Thickness worn away in the abrasion test. Lower is better. |
| Modulus of Rupture (N/mm²) | — | — | Bending stress at failure in the modulus-of-rupture test. Higher is better. Real-world capacity depends on thickness and support. |
For driveways, choose our fossil limestone in setts or cobbles at least 3.5 in (4 in standard) thick on a compacted base, or thicker pavers bonded to a concrete slab.

| Polished | High-gloss mirror finish that dramatically intensifies the fossil patterns and grey tones — the most visually striking option. | Hotel lobbies, statement floors, luxury interiors |

| Feature | Benefit |
| Ancient Fossil Imprints | Every paver is a geological artefact — dense fossil patterns that no factory, porcelain tile, or synthetic material can replicate. Genuinely one-of-a-kind. |
| Cool Blue-Grey Palette | Versatile, sophisticated cool-grey tones that complement contemporary, industrial, Scandi, and traditional design styles equally. |
| Interior & Exterior Use | Performs beautifully across kitchens, bathrooms, living spaces, patios, driveways, pool decks, commercial lobbies, and more. |
| Exceptional Strength | Used from interior floors to driveways; for vehicles, choose setts, cobbles or thicker pavers bonded to a concrete slab. |
| All Finishes Available | Natural, Honed, Polished, Antique, Bush-Hammered, Leathered, Sandblasted, Brushed — choose the finish that suits your project’s aesthetic and function. |
| Textured Natural Finish | The Natural Finish has a textured, fossil-rich face. Brushed is a popular choice for pool decks and surrounds, driveways, patios and other outdoor paving; for these areas we recommend a coarse grit. For wet steps and slopes, choose bush-hammered, one of our most textured finishes. Any paving can be slippery when wet. Finish, slope, drainage, sealer and footwear all play a part, so ask your designer to confirm local pool-deck and code requirements. |
| Easy-Care Surface | Seal with a breathable impregnator to keep moisture and stains out. |
| Cool Underfoot | The grey surface stays cooler than darker stones in direct sunlight — a practical advantage for pool decks and sun-exposed terraces. |
| Custom Dimensions | Order in any size or thickness. Citadel Stone cuts to your exact specifications — from small-format wall tiles to thick driveway setts and pavers. |
| Low Maintenance | Sealed stone requires only routine sweeping and occasional pH-neutral mopping. The dense fossil surface resists staining and daily wear. |
| Direct From Source | No middlemen. No inflated margins. Citadel Stone quarries, manufactures, and ships direct to you — at wholesale pricing. |
| Eco-Friendly | Responsibly sourced natural material with a centuries-long lifespan — dramatically reducing the replacement cycle and environmental impact. |
