Total: $3.20

Your size. Your thickness. Your finish, confirmed for this stone.

We cut this stone to the dimensions and thickness your project calls for. Brushed is our signature finish, from a coarse 16 grit to a fine 80, or finer to order. Most of our limestone and basalt can also be supplied sawn, honed or bush-hammered; polished, tumbled and split-face are made on selected stones. Tell us the size, thickness, finish and use, and we’ll confirm what this stone can be made in. Looking for another color? See the full collection.

Planning a laying pattern? See which of our formats suit herringbone, French pattern, running bond, stack bond, basketweave and fan layouts in our paver laying patterns guide.

Ships by pallet or container to any US state · Lead time quoted per order

  • Floors, patios & terraces
  • External use (from 20 mm thickness)
  • Walls, cladding & facades
  • Pool surrounds & wet areas
  • Driveways (30 mm+ setts and pavers)
  • Steps, copings & edging

Suitability varies with size, thickness, finish, and substrate. Tell us your application when you request a quote and we will confirm the right specification for it.

Bedding: full-bed sand and cement mix or a flexible adhesive appropriate to the substrate.
Joints: from 3 mm for sawn tiles; wider for split-face setts and cobbles.
Sealing: a quality impregnating sealer is recommended for limestone and shellstone; basalt and granite typically need none.
Cutting: wet saw with a diamond blade.

Installation requirements differ by stone and format — a product-specific method note is included with every quote, and our team is available for your installer’s technical questions.

Pricing improves materially with quantity: pallet rates beat per-piece pricing, and full-container rates beat both. Every quote is calculated quarry-direct, with no distributor margin in between.

Distributors, stone yards, and retailers: our Trade & Wholesale Program covers container-load pricing, recurring supply schedules, and private-label production.

Orders ship by pallet or full container to any US state, with kerbside delivery to the nearest safe access point. Lead times depend on stone, finish, and quantity, and are confirmed with your quote. Samples reach any US address within five working days.

Every crate is inspected and photographed before dispatch — if anything is wrong on arrival, contact us and we will make it right.

Crema Argento — Coarse-Textured Limestone, Brushed 16 Grit

Brushed 16 Grit is the coarsest finish we cut in Crema Argento. A heavy abrasive brush works deep into the cream limestone and leaves a rugged, fully matte surface with the strongest grip in the range. This is the finish for pool steps, ramps, steep paths, and any ground that stays wet. It also gives the stone an aged, weathered look, closer to old paving than to new tile.

What You Gain and What You Trade

The coarsest grit is a practical choice with clear trade-offs. Read these before you order:

  • You gain grip: the deepest texture we cut in this stone, for the places where footing matters most.
  • You gain character: a weathered surface that suits rustic, Mediterranean, and traditional settings.
  • You lose some pattern: at 16 grit the veining softens into tone, and the silver threads mostly read as cool grey, glinting only in low sunlight.
  • You lose some color depth: rough surfaces scatter light, so the cream usually reads a shade paler than on the smoother grades.
  • You lose some lounging comfort: the texture is firm and rounded, which is fine for walking, but for long barefoot lounging the 36-grit grade is more comfortable.

If the silver veining is the reason you chose Crema Argento, use 16 grit where grip matters, and use the Honed or 80-grit grade where people will see the stone up close.

Where It Works

  • Pool steps, entry points, and splash-heavy edges
  • Steep paths, ramps, and outdoor stairways
  • Outdoor showers and wet areas around spas
  • Entrance ramps and driveway aprons in thicker cuts, confirmed per project
  • Interior shower floors and wet-room entries where grip matters most, sealed

Steps and Ramps

Treads, risers, and bullnose edges are cut to match, so a 16-grit stair run can meet a 36-grit or 80-grit terrace in the same stone. Order samples of both grits and set them side by side. The color is the same stone, and the difference in texture is easy to judge in daylight.

Cleaning a Coarse Surface

Deep texture holds more dust and leaf debris than a smooth face. The routine is a stiff synthetic brush and a hose, with a pH-neutral stone cleaner when needed. Avoid high-pressure jets, because they can erode the limestone surface and wash out joints. If you use a pressure washer, keep it on low pressure with a wide fan nozzle. Acids and vinegar are never safe on limestone.

Sealing and the Brown Veins

A coarse texture has more surface area than a smooth one, so it absorbs more sealer per square foot. Follow the sealer maker’s coverage rate for textured stone, and budget for it. Use a breathable impregnating sealer and renew it periodically, sooner in wet areas. Sealing also protects the brown veins: they carry iron, which can darken over time where water sits on unsealed stone. Sealed stone on a base that drains keeps the veins their natural color.

Climate

In climates with deep winter frost cycles, contact us with your location first. We check drainage and bedding for your site, and for fully exposed freeze-thaw areas we may recommend basalt instead.

Sizes and Ordering

Every size and thickness is cut to order, including pavers, step treads, risers, coping, and heavier cuts for vehicle areas, quoted in inches or millimeters. Like every Crema Argento grade, it is quarried in the Middle East (quarry-direct, hand-selected) and delivered by pallet or container anywhere in the US or worldwide. The first sample is free. For this grade, test it with your hands and your bare feet before you decide.
